A certified and experienced yoga teacher,  Maya Chilam believes in the power of yoga to heal and transform: no matter what the difficulties our lives present us with, the time-tested wisdom and techniques of the sacred science of yoga is a profound resource to revitalize our physical bodies, release our unhealthy emotional patterns, and tap into the deep reservoir of inner power that lies within all of us. The benefits from yoga practice accumulate over years of steady practice, but can begin to be felt immediately.

Through alignment with the grace of the breath and the development of asanas, we are able to unify ourselves on all levels–physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual–and experience an authentic connection to others and ourselves. We find that our body becomes a vessel to contain the radiance of spirit. With continued practice, yoga enhances our awareness of essential life lessons and sharpens our focus on what is truly meaningful in our lives.

Maya has studied a variety of traditions including Kundalini, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Restorative, Bikram and Flow. She has traveled extensively and is well-versed in eastern philosophy, psychology and literature. As a writer and poet, Maya possesses an artist’s intimate knowledge with inner workings of the creative process. A background in dance gives her the ability to integrate artistic form into yoga movements. With a passion, Maya inspires students to transcend their limitations with each session.
